My friend, Elma, is doing the Ballymaloe Cookery course at the moment. Last Friday, I went to see her in action there. It’s an amazing place and as we are in the middle of a heatwave, the gardens were looking fantastic. Here is a little postcard from my trip.
Went to Ballymaloe Cookery School for a fish lunch cooked by Elma and her colleagues. We had monkfish, crabcakes, Thai soup and fish and chips for lunch. Dessert was pannacotta and gooseberry compote. It was all delicious! After lunch, we strolled around the gardens, where we met some hens and saw the shell house and the glasshouse.
Ballymaloe Cookery School is located in Shanagarry, Co. Cork. It is located in the middle of a 100-acre, organic farm, of which ten acres are devoted to organic market gardens, orchards and greenhouses.

Shanagarry is also home to the Stephen Pearce pottery studio which is also a beautiful spot with a café and lovebirds!
